Our Mission and History

At the Mauritius Badminton Association, we are committed to promoting the sport of badminton and improving the skills of all players in Mauritius. We believe that badminton can be enjoyed by all, regardless of age or skill level. Join us in our mission to elevate your game and take your badminton skills to the next level. Founded in 1982, the Mauritius Badminton Association has a long and rich history of promoting the sport of badminton throughout the country. We have organized numerous tournaments and events, and have helped to train and develop some of Mauritius’ most skilled badminton players. We are proud of our heritage, and are excited to continue to promote the sport for years to come.

About us

The Mauritius Badminton Association is a registered association under the Registration of Associations Act and the Sports Act to be the sole body responsible to develop, promote and regulate the sport of Badminton in all its form throughout the territory of Mauritius and be the only organization to represent Badminton on the Mauritius National Olympic Committee. Besides it is the only body responsible for the selection and training of the national Badminton team for competing at the tournaments organized by the BCA and BWF and at any appropriate competitions it shall choose; be responsible for the formation of coaches, referees and officials and ensure their training; deliver licenses to all Badminton players, coaches and technical officials and arrange for insurance cover against possible accidents in the practice of Badminton by its license holders and officials during competitions and training organized by the MBA.
